WIGGINS, Miss. (WLOX) - Tim Hill was sworn in as the new police chief of Wiggins on Friday evening.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at Blaylock Park.
Hill said he looks forward to serving the community and working closely with the elderly and the youth.
He thanked God for the opportunity and the community for allowing him to continue serving in a higher capacity.
Hill, from Thomasville, Georgia, served in the United States Marine Corps for 21 years.
He started his career in Stone County in 2008. Two years later, he began working for the Wiggins Police Department.
Hill began as a part-time officer and rose through the ranks, ultimately becoming deputy chief in 2020.
Hill is replacing Jeff Thomas , who is retiring after a 27-year law enforcement career.
