Hispanic Heritage Month is being celebrated across the United States during a time when detainments and deportations continue, impacting the community at the center of the immigration overhaul.

A group at the Hope Community Center in Apopka is collecting and sharing immigration stories to empower teenagers. A video project called "Echoes of Migration" is collecting and sharing immigration stories in a community where these stories are prevalent.

Miguel Torres, who is leading the project, told us his dad is from Mexico and he’s deeply impacted by the current immigration overhaul.

Diego Hernandez, a member of Miguel's team, shared his own story, saying, "I was born in Honduras, and I moved to Mexico when I was just three months old."
