As federal agents conduct immigration raids across the US, their use of force is under public scrutiny.
In Los Angeles, a 79-year-old US citizen is suing the federal government for $50 million after he was tackled by federal agents who are conducting a raid at the car wash he owns.
That man, Rafi Shuhed, was detained for 12 hours and suffered broken ribs, chest trauma, and symptoms of traumatic brain injury.
During the raid, Shuhad tried to show the agents his employees' work authorization papers. According to the claim, agents ignored his pleas and detained him.
In a statement, a spokesman for the Department of Homeland Security said authorities at the car wash arrested five people from Guatemala and Mexico who were in the country illegally.
They said Shuhad was arrested for assaulting and impeding a federal officer.
