CHIMAYO, N.M. (KRQE) – Family, friends, and the hospitality industry are mourning the death of a prominent restaurant owner in Chimayo. KRQE News 13 learned more about the legacy she's leaving behind. Florence Jaramillo, who opened the Rancho de Chimayo restaurant with her husband, died at her home on Monday. She was 94 years old.
The restaurant has served the area since 1965. Among its national honors, the restaurant was named an American Classic by the James Beard Foundation in 2016.
