CHARLESTON -- An irreverently funny take on a familiar tale will be presented in dance when the World Ballet Company brings its nationally touring "Cinderella" to the Clay Center in Charleston on Tuesday, Oct. 7.
The tour is taking the Broadway-style ballet -- which it describes as "an irresistibly fun (and funny!) take on one of the world’s most beloved fairytales" -- to 130 cities across the U.S. in 2025-2026.
The family friendly, cinematic ballet blends elegant choreography with playful humor and "stunning visuals" for a timeless, yet delightfully unexpected production.
Choreographed by Marina Kesler, from Estonia, it features a multinational cast of 40 professional dancers from 10 countries, more than 150 hand-sewn costumes, and richly detailed, hand-crafted sets.
