Lucknow, Sep 27: Calling Dussehra a festival of triumph over evil, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday night directed officials to impose the strictest punishments on anyone attempting to disturb peace in the state.

Reviewing law and order with senior officials, zonal ADGs, IGs, divisional commissioners, district magistrates and police chiefs, the CM expressed displeasure over recent incidents of objectionable processions and provocative slogans in Kanpur Nagar, Varanasi, Moradabad, Budaun, Maharajganj, Unnao, Sambhal, Agra and Bareilly. He said these were part of a “well-planned conspiracy to disrupt the state’s harmony,” which would not be tolerated.
