WINSTON COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Five people were arrested in Winston County this week after officials received a tip that led to multiple search warrants being executed.

According to the Winston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a tip about a burglary in the Houston area that led to three search warrants and multiple items of stolen property being returned.

Officials say within an hour of receiving the tip, the sheriff’s office had two suspects, Lisa Cagle and James D. Johnson, in custody with property in hand.

After more search warrants were executed, the sheriff’s office says Steve Martin, Luther Payne, and Francis Sargent were also arrested in the investigation.
