WILLIAMSTOWN, W.Va. — Class AAA No. 5 Chapmanville entered Friday’s contest at Williamstown having allowed 19 points — the second fewest of any team in the state.

As the Tigers showed early and especially late, they pack plenty of scoring punch, too.

Chapmanville raced out to a 19-0 first-half lead, then responded to adversity in as fine of fashion as possible by scoring three touchdowns over the first 1:45 of the fourth quarter to take control in a 50-13 victory over the Yellowjackets.

“The leadership of the players is why we were able to turn this around,” Chapmanville head coach Zach Belcher said. “We came together and talked about it, and they decided they wanted to make a statement, and that’s exactly what they did.”
