DEL CITY — With time winding down in the fourth quarter of a tie game and undefeated Collinsville moving the ball on the ground, coach Kevin Jones decided to take a shot downfield.

Jones hoped to catch the athletic Del City secondary napping.

But Carter Vaughan's pass intended for Talan Rush was underthrown and picked off by Nicholas Holmes at midfield. Holmes returned the ball 36 yards to the Collinsville 14-yard line with 56 seconds remaining and the Eagles were in business.

"We're moving the ball and we just thought we could take a shot and try to get behind them," Jones said. "We actually had a guy behind them and our sophomore quarterback went the wrong way. We had a guy that had his guy beat."
