India strongly countered Pakistan on Friday after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s speech at the United Nations General Assembly, accusing Islamabad of “glorifying terrorism and spreading falsehoods on the global stage.”

Exercising India’s right of reply at the UNGA, Indian diplomat Petal Gahlot condemned Sharif’s remarks as “absurd theatrics” and criticized Pakistan for once again peddling a distorted narrative.

“This assembly witnessed absurd theatrics in the morning from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, who once again glorified terrorism that is so central to their (Pakistan’s) foreign policy,” Petal Gahlot, First Secretary at India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, said,responding to Sharif. “No degree of drama and no level of lies can conceal the facts.”
