Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects worth over Rs 50,000 crore across key sectors, including telecommunications, railways, higher education, healthcare, skill development and rural housing.

In a major push to strengthen the country’s communication infrastructure, the Prime Minister commissioned more than 97,500 4G BSNL mobile towers built at a cost of around Rs 37,000 crore using indigenous technology. The initiative will provide connectivity to over 26,700 unconnected villages, including those in remote, border and left-wing extremism-affected areas.
