One man has died after a skydiving plane crashed on the NSW South Coast .
The plane crashed shortly after 2pm near bushland west of George Bass Dr, Moruya, on Saturday afternoon.
The site is about 2km north of Moruya Airport.
The pilot, a 54-year-old man, and the only person onboard, died at the scene.
Australian Parachute Federation CEO Stephen Porter confirmed the pilot had been attempting to land a Pilatus Porter single engine plane around 2.30pm, when it occurred.
A group of eight skydivers had successfully landed prior to the crash.
“This is incredibly distressing, and our thoughts and hearts are with everyone at the scene, the pilot’s family and friends, and the entire skydiving community which is in shock,” Porter said.
