AHMEDABAD: Two girls approached the Abhayam women's helpline on Wednesday, alleging that their mother had beaten them. The issue arose when they ordered a meal from an online app because they were bored with the meals at home. The counsellors later placed the girls in the custody of their grandparents. "When a team reached the spot, the girls told the counsellors that their parents had divorced five years ago. Their brother now lives with their father, while they live with their mother. The girls said that the mother's outlook on life, staying out for long periods and drinking alcohol were among the reasons for the separation," a counsellor said. The girls had been sent to a hostel for their studies but had recently returned home to prepare for their Class 10 and 12 exams. The girls
