Beiwacht gave Godolphin more to think about heading into the $20 million Everest (1200m) with a track-record demolition of the $1 million Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

Repeating the feat of his sire, Bivouac, from 2019 in the three-year-old feature, Beiwacht added a first group 1 to his CV to stamp himself as a future stallion for the global racing powerhouse.

Leading under Adam Hyeronimus, Chris Waller-trained Beiwacht ($9 Sportsbet) surged clear late to beat Coolmore-owned stablemate Wodeton by four lengths in a new benchmark time of 1:20.79, eclipsing Cepheus’s track record of 1:21.22.
