New Delhi: After enjoying a dominant run in the tournament, India were handed a reality check by Sri Lanka in their final Super 4 clash on Friday as Suryakumar Yadav & Co. scraped out a Super Over win to keep their winning run intact in the Asia Cup 2025. Despite posting a strong total of 202 runs, the highest in the tournament, India faltered in defence as the bowlers failed to turn up.

Pathum Nissanka’s brilliant century and Kusal Perera’s fifty nearly took Sri Lanka home, before India pulled things back to stop the islanders on 202/5 in 20 overs, to force the game into a Super Over. India won the Super Over comfortably to keep their flawless record intact in the tournament, but their narrow win exposed the flaws in India’s squad.
