The Westman Naturalists are heading out to Whitewater Lake, located between Boissevain and Deloraine, today to take in the migration of birds.
"We are expecting to see hopefully quite a range of bird species," says group President and Associate Professor in the Department of Geography and Environment at Brandon University, Alex Koiter. "Birds are currently migrating with the change in season, so a lot of birds are actually passing through the region as they migrate further down south to kind of get ready for the winter. So, participants can expect to see geese, sandhill cranes, probably a range of ducks, shorebirds, probably some sparrows and warblers."
