This weekend, a pair of longtime SEC rivals will meet up with more than just bragging rights on the line.
No. 4 LSU and No. 11 Ole Miss will put their undefeated records on the line when the Tigers travel to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Mississippi, on Saturday, Sept. 27 in one of the biggest, potentially most-consequential matchups of the young 2025 college football season.

In its fourth season under coach Brian Kelly, LSU has established itself as a College Football Playoff contender, with wins against then-No. 6 Clemson and Florida already on its resume. Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier has largely lived up to his immense preseason hype, with 962 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions. He's been complemented by a vicious defense under second-year coordinator Blake Baker that hasn't allowed more than 10 points in a game this season.
The Tigers will get their stiffest challenge yet in the Rebels, who continue to be among the most explosive teams in the country under coach Lane Kiffin. In its four wins, Ole Miss has averaged 44.8 points per game, the 12th-most among 136 FBS teams. It will look to continue that momentum with quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, who will reportedly be getting the start under center. In wins against Arkansas and Tulane, Chambliss completed 38 of his 56 passes (67.9%) for 660 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions while adding 174 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
LSU has won seven of the past nine meetings, though Ole Miss won a 55-49 thriller in Oxford in 2023 in the most recent matchup between the programs.

Prediction: LSU 27, Ole Miss 24
The two Power Four offenses LSU has faced this season, Clemson and Florida, haven't exactly been lighting up scoreboards, but LSU's defense has been superb, allowing just 9.3 points per game in four games. It won't slow down Ole Miss in the same way, but it'll be enough to get out of Oxford with a win.
