A 25-year-old passenger was arrested for allegedly smoking inside an aircraft lavatory, police said. The passenger was held at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai.

According to reports, passengers noticed smoke coming out of the lavatory, which led to chaos inside the Phuket–Mumbai flight.

The passenger, Bhavya Gautam Jain, has been booked under the Aircraft Act. As per the law, smoking is strictly prohibited during flights.

Similarly, in the month of June this year, a man allegedly misbehaved with a woman crew member onboard a Jaipur-bound Air India Express flight from Dubai after consuming alcohol, sources confirmed.
