India is moving closer to becoming a global telecom manufacturing hub, with state-run BSNL successfully developing a fully indigenous 4G technology, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday at a public event in Jharsuguda, Odisha.

Highlighting the nationwide impact, PM Modi said that over two crore people will directly benefit from the expansion of 4G technology, and nearly thirty thousand villages that previously lacked high-speed internet will now be connected.

“With this indigenous 4G technology, India has taken a major step towards self-reliance,” the Prime Minister said, lauding BSNL’s dedication, perseverance, and technical expertise in achieving this milestone.
