Iusually begin our weekly chats with a little gardening humor, but today’s weed topic is no laughing matter, although I could mention the plant breeder who crossed poison ivy with a four-leaf clover and had a rash of good luck.
If I could grant one wish for all gardeners, it would be for us to be free of the continual battle with weeds.
Can we win this war on weeds?
I’ve never met a gardener who eradicated every weed, never having to deal with any weeds ever again. With vigilance, though, many gardeners do keep the majority of their weeds at least manageable.
We might not win an everlasting war on weeds, but we can win plenty of battles, diminishing weeds so our flowers flourish and our fruits and vegetables thrive.
