Krista Pontius, longtime agriculture teacher and FFA adviser at Greenwood High School, was recognized Aug. 15 at the Perry County Fair for receiving one of the highest honors in her field — the 2025 Pennsylvania Golden Owl Award.
Pontius learned earlier this summer that she had been named the state winner after being picked as a regional honoree earlier in the year. The award, presented at the Pennsylvania FFA State Convention, is a prestigious distinction for an agricultural educator. It recognizes teachers in the state who dedicate countless hours, often with their own resources, to improve the lives of their students.
