Jayson Tatum is eyeing a comeback to the court.
But the NBA star won’t take his place in the Boston Celtics’ starting five until he is good and ready. After all, he’s spent the last several months diligently working to overcome the devastating Achilles tear sustained during 2025 playoffs.
“ Recovery timeline is too early to tell,” Tatum admitted in an interview with E! News. “It may be this season. It may be next season—just most importantly, making a full recovery and being 100 percent when I do step back on the floor.”
So, when the Celtics tip off the 2025-2026 season against the Philadelphia 76ers Oct. 22, he may not be suited up, but he’ll be there cheering on Jaylen Brown , Derrick White and the rest of his teammates from the sidelines.
