CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Investigators in Cherokee County are ruling that the driver of an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), involved in a deadly crash over Labor Day weekend , was at fault in the wreck.
On Saturday, Aug. 30, two ATVs — one being a RZR and one a CAN-AM — collided at Indian Mountain ATV Park in Piedmont.
When the ATVs collided, the RZR, carrying nine people, overturned and hit a tree. The driver, later identified as Marcus Ragland, was ejected and died at the scene.
Ragland’s RZR had an additional adult passenger aboard, as well as seven children. The children ranged in age from 1 to 12 years old.
The other adult passenger was a woman named Ashley Hawkins. She later died from her injuries.
