Horror as boy, 5, 'beheaded in front of his mum by man who stormed into home'

A FIVE-year old boy was beheaded in front of his mum by a man who stormed into their home.

Mahesh, 25, allegedly grabbed a sharp spade he found lying in the house and attacked the young boy - severing his neck from his torso.

India has been left shocked by the disturbing attack , which took place yesterday in the country's central state of Madhya Pradesh.

The child's mom was also injured in the sick attack after she desperately tried to save her son.

After hearing her cries, local ran to her aid and severely beat up the attacker who later died on his way to hospital .

Cops understand the attacker had been missing from his home for almost four days.

He had also allegedly tried to steal items from a nearby shop about an hour before the attack.
