Mercer Island city council and school board candidates will speak during a forum at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on Oct. 7 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St.

Meeting opens at noon, with the formal program beginning around 12:15 p.m. and ending at 1:30 pm. Guests are always welcome and there is no fee to attend. A catered lunch is available for $25, or attendees can bring their own meal.

This meeting is an opportunity for the nine contested and uncontested candidates for the Mercer Island city council and school board to share a little about themselves, respond to facilitator questions and then a brief time for audience questions. Contested candidates will have around seven minutes each, with uncontested candidates around four minutes.
