Pune, September 27 — The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a red alert for several parts of Maharashtra, warning of extremely heavy rainfall on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Citizens have been advised to remain vigilant as multiple regions brace for intense downpours.
According to the IMD’s latest bulletin, extremely heavy rainfall is likely over Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Pune Ghat area and Palghar, with some areas expected to receive very intense spells. Coastal districts such as Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg, along with the ghat regions of Nashik, are also likely to experience heavy showers.
