Golden Rule Breakfast brings out several religious faiths

As a Golden Rule Community, the city of Surprise has tried to spread the word of treating others with kindness at its annual Surprise Area Interfaith & Golden Rule Community Breakfast.

This year’s event Sept. 16 at the Dysart Unified School District building brought out leaders of at least six different religions, who touched on the Golden Rule of ‘treating others like you’d like to be treated.”

Ed Casper (Buddhism), Pastor Karen Richter (Unitarian Universalism), Pastor Zach Freeman (Christianity) and Vaibhav Navghare (Hinduism) gave invocations at the event, and Kathryn Mosley, of the Baháʼí faith, and Rabbi Shlomo Ceitlin, of the Jewish religion, each led a “Golden Rule Reflection.”
