Motorists have been warned of delays on the M6 this weekend as work is carried out on a HS2 viaduct.

This will eventually be used for high-speed trains which will go over the motorway near Birmingham Airport, Birmingham Business Park and the NEC.

And as work is carried out this weekend, a diversion has been put in place for motorists.

The closure will be in place on Saturday, September 27 and Sunday, September 28, ahead of a planned reopening on Monday.

HS2 has previously said the planned closure would run from 03:00 BST on Saturday.

And traffic is building on the approach to the closure this afternoon.
