Delta Air Lines Surprises Passengers With ‘First-Ever’ Route To Europe, After Listening To Its SkyMiles Members

Over the summer, Delta Air Lines asked its SkyMiles members and employees to choose a few European destinations to be added to the airline's network for the 2026 summer season. This was never done by other companies before, and loyal customers highly praised the initiative.

SkyMiles members finally got a chance to give their personal preference on important decisions affecting them directly, being able to contribute to the new airlines’ routes to Europe.

Now, weeks after the beginning of this unique initiative, Delta Air Lines has announced through a press release a new direct route connecting the U.S. to a popular destination across the Atlantic Ocean. The airline will soon fly to one of the most popular cities in Portugal. Here is what you should know about it.
