An iconic feature of British summertime for decades, Ice cream vans are being frozen out in the UK as the number in operation continues to fall. Figures show there were around 20,000 ice cream vans on the countries' roads around 70 years ago. But despite their nostalgia the industry appears to be flaking. ‌

Data from Ice Cream Alliance suggested there were only 2,500 to 5,000 ice cream vans still operating over the last five years. And research collected from 362 councils paints an even bleak
