Some of the top professional cowboys in the world — from many western states and Canada — came to compete Friday night at the 26th annual San Bernardino County Sheriff’s PRCA Pro Rodeo in San Bernardino.
The rodeo, which runs through Sunday, is the final regular season event for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association this season.
Cowboys are attempting to earn the most prize money this weekend so they can qualify for the National Finals Rodeo, held in December in Las Vegas.
The crowd at Glen Helen Regional Park , 11755 Glen Helen Parkway, was expected to reach capacity each day of the event, as tickets are sold out for all three days.
Proceeds from the weekend rodeo go to local charities, with over $1 million raised during the past 25 rodeos. Originally Published: September 27
