Six people were taken to the hospital Friday night after a Regional Transportation District bus driver ran a red light and hit a cyclist and two cars in Aurora, police said.
The crash happened at 8:18 p.m. near 12th Avenue and Havana Street, Aurora Police Department spokesperson Matthew Longshore said.
After running the red light and hitting the cyclist, the bus veered into oncoming traffic and hit the two cars, Longshore said. There were 35 people on the bus at the time of the crash, and passenger was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The cyclist had serious injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening, Longshore said. Four people, including one juvenile, were also taken to the hospital from one of the cars that was hit.
