A man was brought to a hospital in critical condition after he was shot in Rancho Mirage early Saturday morning, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Agency spokesperson Wenndy Brito-Gonzalez reported deputies were dispatched to the area of Bob Hope and Country Club drives at around 12:55 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27, after a caller reported that a person who had been driving a vehicle was shot there. The intersection is just south of Eisenhower Medical Center and The Springs Country Club.

After arriving, deputies found a man with a gunshot wound, and he was brought to a hospital. Brito-Gonzalez did not name the man who was shot. She said no arrests have been made so far, and an investigation is ongoing.
