SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A 38-year-old man died after his car was swept into a flooded wash during Friday night’s severe storms in Scottsdale.

Police said Ander J. Pallares Polanco, 38, was reported missing after a vehicle registered to him was found submerged in Vista Del Camino Park near Roosevelt Street and Hayden Road around 7:30 p.m. Emergency crews were unable to reach the car due to swift water hazards.

Firefighters launched a water rescue, using drones and a helicopter, but could not locate a driver. As floodwaters receded, Scottsdale Fire recovered Pallares Polanco’s body Saturday morning around 7:40 a.m.
