ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — The President Barack Obama library reopened in St. Petersburg Saturday morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony after the building was renovated top-to-bottom.
"This library was named after President Barack Obama because his legacy is everything this library should represent," Mayor Ken Welch said.
The new building will hold up to 80,000 books, and has a media center, areas for kids and teens, and includes an auditorium for special events.
"What you'll find inside represents our commitment. Our commitment to equity, accessibility, and opportunity for all," Welch said.
