A 66-year-old woman is fighting for life in hospital tonight after a hit-run crash in Melbourne that’s left senior police fuming.

Kalli Doukas was left to die in Melbourne by a callous driver and their passenger, who are both still on the run after the devastating collision that left two cars wrecked, a third damaged and a woman clinging to life.

The crash has left her family devastated, with her husband, Bill Doukas, struggling to cope with the emotional trauma.

“When I see my wife ... bed-in-law I miss. The mental anguish that everyone has to go through is phenomenal,” he said.

Doukas was just minutes from home when her BMW was hit by a Ford Falcon that police suspect was stolen.

“She was doing nothing wrong. The other car is being driven at high speed recklessly,” Detective Actin
