ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – Ouachita Baptist University freshman Evan Wilkerson won bronze at the 2025 World Para Swimming Championships in Singapore this past week.

Wilkerson, a swimming and diving student-athlete won in the S12 category for visual impairment in the 100-meter backstroke.

His time of 1:03.98 in the event resulted in his first medal in international competition.

He also competed in the S12 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard freestyle, finishing 10th and 12th respectively in those events.

A native of Wake Forest, North Carolina, Wilkerson formerly competed in Paris at the 2024 Paralympic games and is highly touted as the USA’s top swimmer in the S12 category.

He will compete with the Tigersharks for the rest of the 2025-26 season.
