The governor of California issued a statement that is putting a "bullseye" on the back of Donald Trump ally Stephen Miller, according to MAGA supporters.

Gavin Newsom has been a frequent bogeyman for MAGA fans, with the "fuming" Trump supporters recently being "triggered" by the Democrat's posts on social media.

Then on Friday, Newsom's press office posted this on X: "STEPHEN MILLER IS A FASCIST!"

That led Miller, Trump's deputy chief of staff, to vaguely accuse Newsom of some agenda.

"Why do you think they posted this?" Miller asked. Most of the comments on that X post are from MAGA supporters who compare Miller to Charlie Kirk, who was shot at an open-air event in Utah.

Chaa Loftin, a self-identified Christian conservative, responded with, "Because they want people to try to kill you."

"It’s that simple. It’s no different than saying 'Someone needs to kill Stephen Miller because he’s an imminent threat to Democracy', which is obviously an insane take. Political, celebrity, and media figures on both sides should be held accountable for inciting violence," Loftin wrote. "I’m not saying that their speech should be infringed upon, but I am saying that their speech should have consequences. I would be in legal trouble if I threatened someone or incited another to cause harm to them. So why aren’t they held to the same standard?"

A MAGA account called Ironball similarly chimed in, "Because you, like Charlie Kirk, are effective. I hope you are taking these domestic terrorist threats seriously. Newscum knows exactly what his inciteful rhetoric can do."

Another account that shares MAGA content, Michelle, answered with, "To put a bullseye on you for the nutters."

Separately, The Federalist CEO Sean Davis, said of Newsom's post, "He’s trying to get Stephen killed."

For its part, the Governor Newsom Press Office responded to the question from Miller, simply, writing, "Because you’re a fascist."
