While much of the Valley was engulfed in rain that brought flooding and hail to some areas Friday, Gilbert mostly escaped the day’s damage.
While some areas of the Valley had more than two inches of rain, Gilbert recorded 0.43 inches, according to weather.com .
Gilbert police reported no outages or damage from the storm.
That does not mean the town escaped unscathed. Parks and Recreation had to scrap the town’s planned Friday night event at Water Tower Plaza, İViva! A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage.
Parks spokesperson Eva Kirschbaum said the event will be rescheduled for later this year.
