The PGA had to bring in extra state troopers to manage the obnoxious and unruly fans who continuously heckled Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry at the second round of the Ryder Cup on Saturday.
McIlroy and Team Europe successfully navigated a boisterous pro-American crowd at the 2025 Ryder Cup in Farmingdale, New York. But some of the heckling went too far, and this year’s Masters winner finally responded.
Before a shot on the 16th hole, Rory McIlroy told disruptive fans “shut the f**k up” before sticking his shot to within a few feet of the hole.
