VANDALIA, Ohio —
Ohio Task Force 1 says that it will be deploying to the Carolinas this weekend.
According to the agency, a roster of 47 team members will depart Sunday morning from Ohio Task Force 1's main facility in Vandalia and proceed to drive towards the south Atlantic coast. Advertisement
This comes as parts of North Carolina and South Carolina have been placed under a hazardous weather outlook by the National Weather Service, with Ohio Task Force 1 saying that "significant rainfall and flooding" is possible as storms approach the coast from the Atlantic Ocean.
Among the team members being deployed are 17 water rescue specialists and two canine search specialists, who are expected to be used for potential search and rescue missions.
