When Tarnee Ingram first decided to give rugby league a try, her father wasn't a fan of the idea.
Those familiar with Tamworth rugby league might find that surprising. Richard Ingram was a well-known figure at the North Tamworth Bears and Manilla Tigers, having coached at both clubs.
But when it was her turn to pick up the family tradition, he felt protective of his youngest child.
"Seeing Dad coach all the time, I used to go to Bears training all the time and try to beat the boys in fitness," Ingram said.
"Then in Year 10 or 11, there was a school footy thing on, and I was like 'I want to have a go', but Dad was like 'No, you're not playing'. And he didn't come to my game, only Mum did because it was school footy. And Mum was like 'Actually, she went all right at this'.
