Strictly Come Dancing pro Amy Dowden had a few words of advice for her celebrity partner Thomas Skinner as she took aim at his 'unfortunate' backstage mistake during the first live show of the series.

The former Apprentice star and businessman performed a dramatic paso doble for his first turn on the dance floor as the BBC show kicked into full swing on Saturday night.

But the duo landed near the bottom of the Strictly leaderboard with a score of just 16 points out of 40 from the judges.

Thomas was 'over the moon', with his performance saying: "I didn't know how to dance a couple of weeks ago and with Amy I was scared at the start, she's a great teacher."
