During a Friday Night Football game between Calhoun High School and Adairsville High School, a heavy hit led to a player's hospitalization.
Isiah Nails, #9, was transported to a local hospital after a play in the second half of the game, Calhoun Schools said in a Facebook post.
After the hit, officials paused the game.
Both teams came together in the middle of the field to pray for Nails after EMTs rolled him off the field.
Saturday afternoon the school system said he has been released from the hospital and will now proceed through concussion protocol.
"The support from Adairsville and our Jacket community reminded us all, it's bigger than a game," they stated.
In the end, Calhoun won 37-0.
