MINEOLA, L.I. -- A new defensive alignment proved to be the right tonic for CHSFL AA-1 playing St. Peter’s, which held AAA member Chaminade in check during a 20-7 victory Saturday on the road.

The defensive-led win was highlighted by Chase Navarro’s 70-yard interception return five minutes into the fourth quarter. To boot, Navarro caught a pass on a fake punt late in the game that helped the Eagles run out the clock.
