AMITE, Louisiana — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for a work release inmate who walked off during a job assignment at the Florida Parishes Arena Saturday afternoon.

Deputies say Christopher Delcambre, 51, a white male about 5’10” 160 pounds, was last seen wearing blue pants and a white shirt.

Delcambre is in custody for a drug offense and a felony theft case out of Hammond, a release said. Authorities say he has known ties to Abita Springs, Carriere, Mississippi.

TPSO said Delcambre was assigned to move pallets alongside deputies around 3:30 p.m. When the task was complete, he was unaccounted for. He was last spotted heading northeast toward the arena’s new baseball fields.
