Law enforcement praised for keeping Hamadeh rally safe

U.S. Rep. Abe Hamadeh (R-Surprise) was not inside his Surprise district office on Thursday, but that did not stop dozens of people from acting like he was.

The group of protesters who gathered in the parking lot at 12515 W. Bell Road, waved signs warning of the oppression of free speech as cars zoomed by.

But the usual slogans found at most protests took a backseat to another important fact: the law enforcement officials were the star of the show.

Brent Peak, the co-chair of Northwest Valley Indivisible — the group that organized the protest two days prior — praised the Surprise Police Department and the head of Hamadeh’s security team for helping to keep the protest safe during a time of division in the country.
