ORONO -- The University of Maine finally unveiled their brand new sports facilities on Saturday.

The first ribbon cutting took place on the New Balance Track & Field and Soccer Complex, a $27.3 million dollar project funded by New Balance, the Harold Alfond Foundation, and other contributors.

Members of both the women's soccer and men's track teams say they are thrilled and thankful to have to opportunity to play the sports they love on this brand new field.

"It's been a long time coming and we've worked so hard to have this moment come true and its so special," said senior soccer centerback Becka Grisdale. "I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do on it this season."
