SAN FRANCISCO — Nearly 60 million pounds of corn dog products are being recalled after five people were injured due to "pieces of wood" being in the batter, according to a health alert issued Saturday.
The Hillshire Brands Company says pieces of wood could be in the batter of their corn dog and sausage on a stick products made between March 17 and Sept. 26.
They were sold online and shipped to retail and food service locations nationwide, according to the recall alert. See a full list of recalled products here and below.
The recalled products have an establishment number of “EST-582” or “P-894” printed on the packaging, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
