SALT LAKE CITY — A teenage girl was sent to the hospital after trying to step in between an altercation involving two teenage boys in Taylorsville Friday night.

Sgt. Corey Lavin with the Taylorsville City Police Department said the altercation happened at 9:21 p.m. near 1600 West.

According to Lavin, the teenage girl got a laceration on her face after attempting to intervene. At this time it’s unclear if the laceration was caused by a knife or something else.

Following this, the girl was sent to Primary Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two teenage boys fled the scene, Lavin said.
